Election past, nothing changed
Well here we are in the third week of December , the election is past, nothings changed and life would be back to normal, if not for the sensless deaths that keep topping the headlines each week. The right to own and bear arms will again be foremost in the minds of the country , at least for the near future. There are valid concerns from both sides and I'm sure that nothing will ever get done , that will satisfy both sides. Armed security guards: Perhaps the easiest way to make America safer is to establish a standard , for the amount of training needed to become a security guard , then employ them at all places where large numbers of people attend. Other countries use this method and from what I can tell( without the records of mistakes made) it seems to work quite well. I have been frisked many times, ok a slight pat down as I have entered the malls in the Philippines, as they have check points set up at the entrances at all malls. Smiling happy friendly guards check to ensure that your not carrying. Go into any bank, and you will find guards with sawed off shotguns and assualt weapons. No crime here. Jobs : the providing of jobs is upmost in the minds of all politicians, and this would bring some relief. Security : equals big brother, not really. I have worked for a State facility and we had guards that would patrol the grounds each shift, and anything out of place , would be attended to. Having a guard at all schools would cost money that currently is not in most budgets, federal and or state aid? how safe do you want your kids to be.

Two days
Well , here we are with two days left until we elect the person that we hope will bring America back to where we belong. It has been a long and sometimes nasty campaign, and the division of America has never been larger. Blame: each party has blamed the other for all of the woes that are facing America, and they alone are the only answer. Mistrust and hate: Why do we as one country have to mistrust our fellow man ,in order to try to advance our ideas. The hatered ( according to the blog responses that I read daily) that has been displayed during this election has been mind boggling. It would be refreshing to have either and or both candidates come out and try to rally both sides of the American electorate. Sides : This in my opinion is the main problem that is now facing our once great country. Why do we need to have sides, as it is a sure way to divide any group. One Nation under God. It would be nice if that still means the same thing as when our country was founded. One Nation, implies that as a group we strive for the same goals and face the same problems as a united front. Under God implies that there is a higher power, that bestowed life liberty and the pursuit of happiness to us all. Sometimes we forget as a people, as we face our personal problems and endure the challenges of our daily lives. Sometimes we forget that we are all created equal. Moving forward as a group: Unity we have to learn to become united as our countrys name implies. We need to put all of this hatred and division behind us and lift each other up as we lift America back to the place where we belong.

An open letter to Willard "Mitt" Romney and Barrack Hussein Obama. Show us that both of you can act as adults
Willard "Mitt" Romney and Barrack Hussein Obama both of you have gone way too far in your quest to show all American's how childish you can get and to what lengths you will stoop to obtain the prize. It's time to stop all of this unneeded and unwanted waste of our time. We expect more from our elected representives than either one of you have shown as of late. It's past time to roll up your seleves for something more than a photo op and get busy working on the real problems that are dragging down America as you two act like children. Have either one of you asked some outside observers to look at your campaigns and to give you an honest opinion of how you really look. Hint it is not a picture that either one of you would really want to be represented by. Grow up and act like someone worthy of our consideration for the highest office in the land

Romney , made his choice Paul Ryan gets the nod
Paul Ryan has been choosen to be Presidential hopeful Willard "Mitt" Romney's number two. This is all well and good , but isn't it time to work on the problems that grow with each passing day. There are still many days ahead in this term that both the Congress and the President could be using to do the work that they were hired to do. Let's stop the finger pointing and name calling and get down to the business of running this country. Constructive progress, could be if all of the childish bickering were put aside for a while and have these so called professionals work their magic. Each of these people were hired , because they told their respective bosses( that's you and me ), that they have all of the right ideas to move forward as a country, let's hold them to their promisses. Does your vote count? not if you keep casting it for the same old tired broken down members that apparently have their own best intrest in mind. Did your representives bring you all they promissed you in their last campaign, were they close? Lip service, Sure some of these polished people can tell a good story of shinning streets paved with gold and jobs abounding for all , but what's the reality. Let's blame someone else, it's not my fault, I worked for you but I just couldn't couldn't bring enough attention to our plight. Notice how they always will equate themselves with you and your problems. Not really the case. We are on our own as wittnessed by the past accomplishments of both parties.Do nothing Congress. Are you better of now then you were before the last election? remember the mid term when the House replaced many of their menbers with the clear message of brining the jobs back to America. Then we can go back a couple more years to the last Presidential election. Nope and blame...

Wow, reality found it's way home
The fourth of July holiday is just now past, and I hope you all had a nice hoilday with friends and families. The election season is getting dirtier and more childish with the passing of each day. Why can't honor and integrity be a part of the American way of life. Shouldn't there be some sort of penalty for saying something that is clearly a lie , and acting on it as if it were the truth. Both sides of this Presidential election have pushed the envelope , as far as telling tall tales that are detrimental to the country as a whole, not just their opponent. Each day on the news you will hear something that you know is not true ,that one candidate or the other has said and the whole country will be acting on it as if God himself had made a decree, not caring if there is any personal damage inflicted by the careless use of something that we learned to be ashamed of as children. Liar liar pants on ... well you know, at all cost: Whatever it takes to achomplish the desired goal. Lowering yourself, to less than zero should not become a sought after trait in the person running our country.Who can tell the best story and do it without breaking into uncontrolled laughter is declared the new President , by the consitution and is honored with all of the pagentry accorded to the office. Isn't it great....

Nothings changed. United States of America...
Sorry to report , that nothing has changed in the past couple of weeks. The Presidental campaign is still dividing the country. On the the one hand you have a candidate who has never offered any specifics on any issue, choosing instead to just say that on DAY ONE I will do this , or I will do that, never really offering any type of plan other than to say I will do it differently. Regettably, never considering the very fact that in order to do anything both houses of congress and the President have got to work together and put forth some amount of effort and work as a United group striving towards a common goal. No longer: we don't do that here in America any more. Now sadly, we just point fingers and place blame, even if the facts don't bear out the issues. We now stand pat in our opposition at all cost. And this really is the sad point about all of the division that has swept America, all cost. Blind allegiance to an unknown, following blindly not knowing where one is headed but going there just the same. The other hand, has had three and a half years to show us what he is made of and that fact usually would be the tale of the tape under normal circumstances not any longer. This President wasted some time in the beginning of his Presidency that could of been used working on some of the very issues that are now coming back to haunt him. Did he really control both the House and the Senate. In the beginning, sure he had those two branches of our government on paper but he did not hold the allegiance of the parties involved. Sour grapes: there were sore losers among both branches who had their pollitical aspirations dashed by this upitty community organizer and they were not about to allow our President, a black man to gain in any of his attempts at solving any of the problems that are facing us. The President worked through this and did gain their trust and allegiance only to find that nothing was still not going to be achomplished as long as this man was black.. Mid terms: the mid terms brought another set of obstacles with the advent of the tea party and the removal of the majority that this man may have enjoyed. Now he was at the mercy of the G O P and there was no way that they were ever going to allow a black man to solve the very problems , that they themselves had been unable or unwilling to fix for decades. Childish behavior: In grammer school, we expect a certain amount of backstabbing, finger pointing and name calling as this comes with the adolescent mind. We don't however expect to have this kind of behavior coming from our so called professional politicians. These people have earned for the most part at least some sort of degree, having gone through at least some college. These people have sold themselves to us as the be all and end all of all of our problems. If they can't fix it no one can. They all claim that they know how to run a business/ government, yet if they were sitting at the helm of a company that has not achomplished anything in over three years, you would think that they would seriously be thinking about the removal of the over FIVE hundred workers responsible that have done nothing. We hold the upper hand: sorry Mr. President , but you seem to be forgetting that we do hold all of the cards. One term: one term and out has been the battle cry of the GOP for the duration of the Presidency, AT All COST. Did I say childish and it is not going to change anytime soon....

Republican nomination process complete, well almost
This past week Governor Romney wrapped up the Republican nomination, with a win in Texas. Now the gloves have come off and Katie bar the door, as everything is free game. Does it matter if it is true, not anymore just say it enough times and well you know it worked for George. I read the comments on Yahoo News stories from time to time , to gauge where the American people stand on a variety of topics, and I can tell you that we have never had as much hate and mistrust for our fellow countrymen as we have have now. Do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes reading some of the comments, and you will come away with the same feelings of dread and apprehension as I have about the future of our country. We are in the desperate need of someone who can unite Americans from both sides to work together at the problems facing this once great land. Does it bother me to use the term this once great land? you had better believe it. There is no reason why our country cannot still be the shining example to the rest of the world . Have you no honor: I was telling my wife during the Memorial day holiday that as children, America was a great place to live. A place where if you applied yourself, you could obtain whatever your dream was. Patriotism: not anymore. Once upon a time in America, come every holiday most homes would fly the American flag with a proud sense of belonging . Do you own one Did it fly. Looking back : perhaps things were not as rosey as I would like to remember them. We did have the space race , with an ever growing sense of pride that we Americans could come together and apply our knowledge to obtain something greater than the just for me attitude that we now find oursleves embracing. Unemployment fell from just over seven percent in 1-61 to run at just below four percent thru 1-70 It was a great time in America. Then of course there was a war, and a Presidential scandal forever blackening the eye of the collective American populace. Maybe not as great as I would like to have believed, but still better than the prospect that we now hold. It's time...

Immediate action
In the wake of the recent scandals at both the GSA and the FBI, the immediate course of action should be to fire all of the principal players at the ground level , then fire the first level managers, reprimand and possible demotion of the next level managers and a sever reprimand of all top level managers, in both departments. All of these people were asleep at the switch and need to be shown that business as usual is not to be tolerated. For those of you demanding that the President be held accountable, let me tell you this . There are over a million employees in the federal Government and to think that any one person could be responsible for thier actions is foolhardy at best. This is why there are managers at every level, and this is where the disciplinary actions need to start.

Hope against hope
With Gov Romney over half of the way ( by delegate count)to securing the Republican nomination for President , the others in the field should really just bow out and let Romney get started on what will be a exercise in futility as felt by many on both sides. For those remaining in the race they are showing that they really have no connection with reality, not to mention the one's funding their endeavors, hoping against hope, for some major malfunction by the frontrunner, that perhaps would propel their dead campaigns. Obama, Lindsy Lohan and the Masters. The President doesn't have the record that one would of enjoyed going into this election season, but he does have a list of achomplishments in spite of having to fight every inch of the way against both parties. Lindsy Lohan, will never learn to become a productive member of society, as wittnessed by yet another alleged episode of her life as she knows it coming just days after being released from probation. The Masters, it's good to know that at least in one place in the American culture,we can expect to have many men striving towards one goal, without the lies, cheating and complete disrespect of the others in the pursuit. Honor , remember it. Once upon a time in America.....

Rick Santorum, does he ever listen to himself talk
Rick Santorum , may be surging once again in some of the southren states, but he really doesn't have a chance at getting the nomination. We would be better off with Obama as President than to elect Romney, sure now he is once again trying to back peddle on something he said that he did believe in when he said it. Take away health care for millions of poor and disadvantaged American children , just because he wants to make some talking points on the trail. Do as I say , is he really the one to be handing out the directions as to how we are supposed to be living . Hatered, quick to judge others, sure if you're not like me . What Rick Santorum needs to think about , is what would Jesus do ? and that's what he should ask himself each morning as he starts his day. What would Jesus Do????

Something to be proud of
With the Super Tuesday primary taking place tomorrow, a good many of you may be going to the polls in your state to select your candidate for the nations highest office. This years election season, which for some has been going on for over five years, is nothing to write home about. Have we learned anything about what these individuals will do to enhance America. Some American's are getting rather tired of all of the name calling and finger pointing, the endless bashing of the "other candidate" without any regard as to one's party just as long as they achieve the desired outcome. And one can hardly wait until the general election too see just how low we have gone as a people and the never ending quest for greed. Back in the day , as they say, American's would never stoop to telling outright lies. Once upon a time, there was something called honor, a principal that would govern how one would act and be judged accordingly. Today we have four candidates in the Republican party, each one of them telling America that they should be the choice for the partys nominee. Lets take a look at these individuals. The front runner Willard "Mit" Romney has earned a fortune with what some would call unethical practices. While being totally legal some would question as to the morality in his decision making process, putting the dollar (and the never ending quest for it )above of all other concerns. It's just business. There are winners and there are losers. Next we have Rick Santorum. Rick spent some time in Senate before being subject to a loss, sending him into the private sector. His religious views are strong and heart felt as is his commitment to family, and his desire to bring something that was lost back, to the American way of life. His desire although is not grounded in the reality of today. Sure it would be wonderful if both parents did not need to go to work each day, leaving the children to raise themselves, once they come home from school. But once again the quest for the almighty dollar , has made it a necessity for any family to be able to make it in todays world. Then you throw in a lay off or plant closing , due to the business practices of todays world and the destruction of the family is now complete. Home losses and stress due to the practices of those in charge have left very little room for the Ozzy and Harriet leave it to Beaver days of yore. Government in your bedroom, Please don't. In the third spot, Newt Gingrich fills this spot loosely. Sure he was the Speaker of the House back, before being asked to resign in the wake of unethical and unsound practices. He never accepted any guilt for any of his wrong doings , although he did pay sanctions of $300,000.00 dollars as a result. In leaving he did leave his fellow House member with a speech about how self important this man really thinks he is. "I'm willing to lead but I am not willing to preside over people who are cannibals. My only fear would be that if I tried to stay, it would just overshadow whoever my sucessor is" Lastly Ron Paul What can you say about him . The main stream press won't give him the time of day , but do they really owe him anything. End the fed , end the wars bring home all troops, quit giving aid to countries that hate us take care of your own, not really bad ideas but sadly they are not things that Washington wants to talk about. Good luck

Whats wrong with this picture
For years our elected representives have been taking money ( the surplus, 2.6 trillion since 1983, above the amount needed to pay current beneficiarys )that was paid in to the Social Security Administration, without any idea as to when or if it could ever be paid back. The social security surplus was invested in treasuries, enabling the government to borrow less money from other sources. The government borrows these funds to pay for other spending , but is obligated to pay intrest on these borrowings, and are to pay the funds back when needed by Social Security for benefit payments. The money is gone and the system is broke: These funds are guaranteed, but are only as strong as the federal Government and taxes will have to be raised to cover the costs of the borrowings when they are called for. Now they are back again ; this time to try to "overhaul" the system, to cut back on the benefits that are owed to millions of Americans , who have paid into this fund for a lifetime. Most of these Americans paid into this fund , with the understanding that when they reached retirement age they would at least be able to count on something each month as most of these Americans did not have any kind of retirement plans offered to them through their employer nor could they afford them if they were. Cuts need to be made : this is very true however cutting the benefits of Americans who have next to nothing is not really going to help much in the overall picture. It would be too easy to fix this by saying that we could divert some of the savings from the ending of the two wars and applying that money to cover the "borrowed" funds. This sadly can not happen, as the wars were and are funded with borrowed funds. More revenue needs to be coming in : Adding more revenue to the fund, if in fact there really was one , would be the quickest way to solve the problem of funding. But with the outsourcing of jobs there are fewer and fewer Americans working and paying taxes, at a time when we need more workers. Raising the retirement age; once again there is talk about raising the retirement age,but this would only be a quick fix and would not really offer much relief. Cutting the benefits to those who are receiving benefits but having never paid anything into the system, would be a good place to start. Taxes need to be raised to fund the Social Security system, but there is not much desire in doing so in an election year. The House Republicans just passed an extension on the payroll tax holiday, prolonging the cuts in funding to Social Security,in an effort to save face in an election year futher complicating the problem. We can't dig our way out of the hole that we now find ourselves in . If you keep digging you will find that the hole just keeps getting deeper.

Is anyone else embarrassed?
I'm sorry to say , but I feel that this Republican election cycle has got to be one of the most embarrassing moments in American history. Surely you would think that in all of America that there would be a few American's that don't come off as just plain stupid each time that they open their mouths. On the one hand we have as the front runner, a completely out of touch millionaire, who doesn't really have a clue as to how the rest of America lives, and in his past has been on every side of every issue and on the other hand we have this lying cheating short fuse has been, that has never taken any responsibility for anything unless someone else did it, that is just about ready to blow. There are a couple of other American's running who come across as somewhat intelligent, but they don't get the time of day by our we select who we want American media. I have been watching with great intrest all of the debates and all I have seen so far , is just more finger pointing and name calling. The President did this or my opponent did that, never saying that this is what I WILL do. I want to hear a plan I want to be told that as President I WILL WORK with all members of the American pollitical process. All of the members of the House and all of the members of the Senate I will go to them as the leader of the free world and say this is what I want to do , and your job is to make it happen, and if they give the same kinds of results that we have been getting, I will hold them up to the media saying that the reason we have failed to get anything done is because of this..These people need to get over their larger than life personas and get busy fixing America. Afterwards they can tell the story of how THEY did it anyway they want, but it does need to happen and it needs to happen NOW.

Family values, maybe not
For the past thirty years the GOP has sold it self as the party of family values. High morality, integrity and family values the shining example of the American way, used to be the benchmark of the Republican party. After the past few months of Presidential debates , I'm beginning to wonder if this is really what it means to be a Republican in America. It would appear that I have been wrong for all of these years, believing that the Republican party stands for anything more than get it while you can at the expense of all others. Lying cheating and whatever it takes , in both their personal lives and their business lives apparently are the norm just as long as they achieve the prize. Lies and personal attacks seem to be a time honored tradition within the Republican party, say it enough times and it becomes true. My pride in the American way swells with each day as we move forward in selecting a President. This is nothing near what our forefathers had in mind when they envisioned this country when they started it so many years ago. Please put someone who has some morals ,integrity, values and ethics up in the next state primary, give us someone worthy of governing the most powerful nation on earth. In God we trust .

Super PACs and other topics
Super PACs: Last week after losing the Iowa Caucus Newt Gingrich was crying like a baby over the use of Super PACs by some of his Republican rivals vowing to have the practice abolished. This week however after being given five million dollars by a billionaire to his own Super PAC he is all for the use of such institutions. Political Campaign contributions have always been a problem, and after several attempts at solving the issue of trying to remove big money from the game, they came up with this method which is by far the worst way of financing an election. Now there is a way to inject massive amounts of money , unchecked into any campaign, simply by routing it through a super PAC. Never going to change. This big money issue is never going to go away so you had better just get used to the idea of who ever has the most money is going to be the nominee and or the winner of any election. Term limits: Term limits have been talked about for years , but has it's time finally come? Now that the main stream Republican candidates are talking about it , perhaps we can move forward to a higher level. Iran: This week several of the candidates for the Republican nomination for President have come forward, saying that they would go to war with Iran , to stop their perceived nuclear program, stating that the current President is not doing enough to stop this threat. Russia , has expressed regret and concern calling for more six way talks after Iran has announced that they are able to refine their uranium futher, but not to the level required for making nuclear weapons but for the production of civilian power and radioactive isotopes, used for medical purposes. Is this really what we want at this time, another war fought with borrowed funding? Why don't we just take care of America for a change, and see how things go,and if futher information is gathered concerning the attempts by Iran in obtaining a nuclear device, then we can act on it in a responsible manner. Gold: Do you own gold? are you planning on obtaining more. Just a thought, let me ask you , if you had many untold pounds of gold in your possession as apparently many of the gold and silver exchanges now on TV do , and after making the claim that gold is now ready to triple again as it already has in the past , why would you be wanting to sell it now . Gold , you can't eat it.
