Can you believe this
Five days to go before the Iowa Republican Caucus, and there have been more swings than in the schoolyard playground. Michele Bachman has gone from polling first after winning the straw poll six months ago to running last. I guess once you get to know someone you can make informed choices.Tim Pawlenty left back then, as he failed to gain any support. Then came herman Cain and his 9 9 9 plan , and with it all of his infidelities real or otherwise and he was also a memory.Rick Perry was a late entrant and he shot to the top, only before losing traction and sliding back down into the also ran group. Newt Gingrich, was riding the wave to the top ,polling with a lead in the double digits even announcing that he would indeed be the nominee. Only that was before the rest of the group ran ads reminding America of Newts past. Mr. Gingrich started crying foul , saying that it was negative advertising, and that he was going to stay positive and stay on message and that he was above that kind of campaign. Only after seeing his lead evaporate did his vow of superiority go out the window, saying on a nation wide news show that he would indeed remain with his positive message and not resort to the negative campaign practices employed by his competition, even while bashing each and every one of them on the show. All along, while all of the others have gone from just an also ran to having their turn at the top, Mitt Romney has clung to his twenty something percent polling numbers . He can't get any support outside of his small group. Jon Huntsman decided not to spend any time in Iowa and may be the best candidate in the bunch , but he doesn't have a chance of gaining any support after not playing by the rules by bypassing Iowa. And that leaves Rick Santorum he is making gains everyday in the polling numbers, as each of the other front runners crash and burn although he is still lagging behind the other front runners Romney and Paul. Ron Paul, has been gaining in strength each day in Iowa , but he still is being dismissed as a serious candidate by all the others in the campaign and by all of the network news. Gary Johnson never was given any chance of competing, and has left the group and went on to the libertarian party, to run as a spoiler. Getting good? depends on you idea of good. The clock is tickng

There are others
As Christmas comes again we all rush around the shopping centers and malls trying to find that gift that will be just right for that special somebody on our lists. We yell at the other people at the traffic lights and turn into Indy drivers to get that last parking spot , acting as if the other guy is the enemy, someone to be beaten at all cost. After it is all over and the gifts have been opened , there is little time left for thinking about the less fortunate among us. There are people that are starving to death around this world, who would like nothing more than to just have a few bites every couple of days. Even right here in America , there are people who through no fault of their own are existing on nothing more than scraps. They dig in the dumpsters trying to find something to bring home to their children, if they even have a home. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs because of greed and lust for money. This single minded quest has taken away from America all that once made us a great nation. Nobody cares about you , get it while you can , seems to be our new motto as Americans. I got mine, too bad about you but could you get out of my way as you are blocking my light. Remember when we cared about something bigger than ourselves, sometihng nobel honest and desirable. Now sadly nothing. America now is in our last days and the picture is not getting any better. We are facing an election year in 2012 and we will go to the polls to elect the person who will lie to us the best and promise us the most, knowing full well that nothing will ever change for the better. But does it have to be this way. There are good people out there but their message has not been heard and is not getting through. Our system is broken and needs a complete overhaul. From taxes, jobs, housing entitlements, markets, defence spending just about every thing needs to be looked at and redone, but we are more worried about if the rich corporations can bring back the money that they earned in other countries without paying any taxes on it. I got more for me, are you still hungry? Or perhaps we are worried about some 16th century culture that has sworn vengence on us , because we rob, rape and maim all in our path. Remember Christmas? remember the reason for the season? What would Jesus do.

Not in my lifetime
Not in my life time , did I ever think that I would live to see such a disfunctional government as the one the we are now paying for their services. Many American's go off to their jobs each day out of habit and necessity. Oh sure there are the rich, retired, disabled and the unemployed , but for the most part all American's are expected to provide some amount of service and earn a living. Workers: workers , when hired are hired to fill a specific need, based on the needs and requirments of the company that employs them. If they fail to do their work as required , then they are replaced. Sometimes they are given a chance to better their job performance and go on to become good employees. Other times they are just let go as they do not fit into the plans of the company, and no company can be expected to keep nonproductive employees. Does this sound as though this where we stand as a country and with our paid employees ie: our elected representives? Do we give them another chance to better their job performance or do we just replace them without further notice? 2012 elections think about your choices. There are 33 out of 100 senate seats up for grabs and all of the 435 house seats, along with the President. Remember only you can prevent congressional embarrassment.

North Korea, Whats next
With the passing this week of North Korean "Beloved Leader" Kim Jong Il the world has moved closer to a complete unkown. With his youngest son Kim Jong Eun set to take over control of North Korea, this leaves the world at a precipice that is not welcomed at this time in history. Kim Jong Eun has been grooming to take over control for only a short time ( just a few years) as compared with when his father was groomed ( over twenty years)to take control from his father. This leaves a vacuum in the power as to who rightfully controls North Korea, as he may be seen as too untested and inexperienced to be charged with the ruling of this country, by some of the generals now in power. At twenty something Kim Jong Eun has been trying for the passed year to gain support of the hard line generals now in the top of the power structure. And with the passing of his father , he may be required to gain the support from these generals from scratch on his own accord. The world needs to excercise extreme caution at this time, as any move on the part of any of his precieved threats may lead to an inaccurate interpretation by this young man. In his youthfull attempts to gain this much needed support , he may very well do things, that to him will bolster his position with these generals only raising the stakes with the rest of the world. Will we see a flexing of muscles militarily from this young leader, or will calmer heads prevail. This is a time where vigilance needs to be employed and to avoid a rush to judgment, and not do anything foolish.

Not the Governments responsibility
After watching most of the Republican debates , one thing is in absence in most all of the conversations, jobs. While the group does talk about a wide range of subjects, they hardly touch on the subject of jobs. When this does come up they usually just say that it is not the Governments responsibility to provide jobs and move on, telling us how it is up to the private sector to create jobs. This comes from a group of people who are all government employees. Everyone of their jobs were created for them at a cost to the American public. This I got mine you get yours mentality is what has gotten America into this position to begin with. These people need to understand that the identified need, is why their jobs were created in the first place. If it were not for the identified need , then these people would be handing out carts at Wal-Mart like the rest of us. In this time of high unemployment ,these elected officials should be working on finding anyway to bring the jobs back to America( identified need ) , and if that means they need to be just a little bit on the protectionist side , then so be it. The time of giving away the store to the special intrest groups should be a thing of that memories are made of. We need to bring about sustained growth in America, not just in one industry, but across the board. Tariffs, this need not be a dirty word , and it does work apparently as our trading partners seem to use this against us when things are not up to their expectations. Leveling the playing field is something that brings about the added measure of advancement and should be used to it's full potential. Trade war, only if you call it that by name.Otherwise it is just doing business, and don't think for a moment that others in this world wide trade don't use everything at their disposal to advance their agenda.

Once Again
Once again our trusted public servants , have backed themselves into the corner, as they have waited until the last minute, to work on the problems facing America. A year consist of 365 days , for everybody. Why is it then, that our professional career politician's can't seem to find the time to work on the problems facing America until their feet are in the fire. Perhaps it is time to hire someone without any experience, to run this great country of ours, as the experts that we have trusted to take care of the day to day operational needs , are just not up to the task. Think long and hard about our country and the direction that it is headed. Nearly 50% of American's are at or below the poverty level, do you think this is what the founding fathers had in mind when they put forth on this great journey , that is America? Time for a change? could be if your not achieving the goals that you have set for yourself and your family. Remember vision, use to be someone would come forth with his vision for America , and after telling it to the citizens of America he would ask , that if you agree with me in this vision, then we can join together as one people to move towards the common goal. Now, not so much , do they ask or even care what you think about any of the decisions that are made in your behalf? hardly. It is now about how much money can be brought into the parties coffers, or how much will I make on this DEAL. America it's time

The hits just keep coming
We are all aware by now , that our military has lost a unmanned drone this past week in Iran. What it was doing there is left up to the ones who don't share. Our military has now claimed that the drone, that the Iranians are showing on their t.v. is a fake, as the one that we lost was totally destroyed as confirmed by the military via satelite pictures. The report stated that this style of drone would fly at some 50,000 feet and upon losing control would undoubtedly be destroyed. This is all well and good , but let me ask you a question. Would it make sense for the Iranian government to have in their possession a make up of the style drone that we are flying , just in case we were to lose one at some time , so they could hold it up and say see we have it ???. Our fallen: Our fallen have been getting quality respect for their service to their country. Turns out that the body parts of hundreds of fallen soilders have been thrown into land fills instead of getting the proper respect that they deserve. This practice has been ended since 2008. This is of course something of a disgrace to the memory of all of these fine American's who gave all. While the rest of the world works to get their financial houses in order we of course have done Nothing! As we head for another credit down grade we have to ask oursleves is this the kind of government that our founding fathers had in mind when they set about on this historic experiment?

Why do you think this is right?
Once again we are getting the short end of the proverbial stick , if you think for a moment that this is what our founding fathers had in mind, when they set forth on this grand experiment called Amerca. Everyfour years we gather together as a nation to elect, or hire someone we hope will be the right person to lead us as a nation to a higher place. We try to look for someone who brings forth new ideas for achieving these goals, someone who can work together with the other two branches of government. The House and Senate are set up to balance out the decision making process, and to limit any one person from obtaining too much power. For the past three years our politicians,of both parties, in both branches of Congress have been engaged in a fight, to show the other party that they are the ones in control. They seem to have forgotten that they do indeed work for the citizens of America. Further, they seem to have forgotten that they are supposed to work as American's to better the lives of all people who live within the boundries of America. These days, the power of the special intrest groups and lobbyist, have completely shut out the people of America from having any say in the decision making process. Gone are the days when if something was going to help the majority of American's, then the House and the Senate would do their all to make this happen. Today sadly, the main goal of all who call themselves public servants,(and this is what they are supposed to be ) are only beholding to whoever brings the most to the table for their party. It's well past time, for all of the finger pointing and name calling to cease. Time for the politician in both parties to roll up their sleves and get serious about fixing the problems that are facing America, before it is too late.

Is this really just a circus side show?
The 2012 Republican nomination process has been under way for some time now , with a series of debates, that so far have shown that clearly the Republican party is coming up short when it comes to providing America with any meaningful choices. At the start of the race there was Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachman, who quickley fell by the way side, only to be replaced with Texas Governor Rick Perry. Perry lasted for a couple of weeks before being replaced as flavor of the week by Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney has held the top spot for some time, although he has had attempts at his number one rating by ex God father pizza ceo Herman Cain. Cain who had been climbing to the top of the pack on some of his simple to understand ideas ,like his famous 9-9-9 plan that did not really add up, before having his campaign derailed by a series of sexual harrassment claims. Then came the game stopper , an accusation from a woman who had claimed that she has been in a sexual affair with Herman for over thirteen years. That brings us to todays top spot holder Newt Gingrich. Newt like most of the other Republican candidates so far, comes with an overwhelming amount of baggage. He is famous of course for resigning as Speaker of the House, and the House it self. In the wake of many ethics violations,he was also sanctioned $300,000.00 for making inaccurate statments to the ethics committee. Newt said at the time "In my name and over my signature, inaccurate, incomplete and unreliable statements were given to the committee" he was also sited in many affairs while he was trying to impeach then President Clinton, accussed himself with sexual misconduct. At the time of his resignation Newt Said "I'm willing to lead but I am not willing to perside over people who are cannibles. My only fear would be that if I tried to stay, it would just overshadow whoever my replacment is."After leaving the House Newt became a paid consultant for morgage giant Fannie mae and Freddymac earning millions of tax payor dollars. There are a few others who are running in this race but have not yet reached flavor of the week staus. They include Rick Santorum, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman. And the circus goes on stay tuned.
